Francis "Frank" 'Patsy' Boylen (or Boylan) (birth registered October→December 1878 – 3 February 1938 (aged 59)) birth registered in Hartlepool district, was an English rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1900s and 1910s, playing representative level rugby union (RU) for England, and Durham, and at club level for Hartlepool Excelsior, Hartlepool Old Boys, Hartlepool Rovers, and West Hartlepool R.F.C., and playing representative level rugby league (RL) for Great Britain, England, and Yorkshire, and at club level for Hull (twice), York, and Hull Kingston Rovers as a , or , i.e. number 11 or 12, or 13, during the era of contested scrums, he died in Kingston upon Hull.
